Chances are, your brand new baby will get a diaper rash.
Just about every newborn baby has a diaper rash in the first couple of weeks. It can take a few weeks for the skin to toughen up and get used to having pee and poop on it.
Don't let anyone convince you that a diaper rash in your brand new baby is your fault. Her skin just needs time to adapt. Before birth it never had pee and poop on it, and now it's wet and dirty a lot.
Every time you change her diaper, use whatever ointment or paste you got at your baby shower. Be diligent about doing this, and in two or three weeks, her skin will be toughened up, and she won't have a rash anymore. When her skin looks normal, you don't need the ointment anymore.
