Links to Books and Other Websites
This web site is about normal newborn babies. There are many other good web sites that can answer questions about older babies, babies' development, illnesses, vaccinations, feeding stages and other children's health topics.
Here is a list of web sites that I have explored and that I think are worth visiting:
|Icon||Name & Link||Description|
|Kids Health||If you only visit one web site, this is the one. Run by a not-for-profit organization dedicated to children's health (The Nemours Foundation's Center for Children's Health Media), this site is mature, deep and well-maintained.|
|Información para Padres||"Kids Health" en Español. Muy buena informatión sobre el bebé, los niños y los jóvenes.|
|Breastfeeding||from the Lucille Packard Children's Hospital, Stanford Medical School, CA
This site is full of THE BEST information about breastfeeding. There is none better.
|Healthy Children||The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) website for parents.|
|Heading Home with Your Newborn||From Birth to Reality, 2nd Edition
by Laura A. Jana MD, FAAP and Jennifer Shu, MD, FAAP
A book all about newborns. Written by mothers who are also pediatricians.
|The Newborn Channel||The Newborn Channel is a closed circuit TV network for hospitals.
The link here is to their program page. Page down to see all the topics they present.
If you don't mind reading TV program scripts, you can pick up a lot of good information. The scripts are in English and Spanish.
Thanks to Janelle Aby MD, Stanford School Of Medicine, Newborn Nursery, and Lucille Packard Children's Hospital for the use of occasional photographs.
