Ear Tag

Ear Tag

It is not unusual for newborn babies to have little skin tags in front of their ears. Ear tags tend to run in families.

If the base of the tag is thin, the nursery doctor can numb it up and tie it off. The tag dries up and falls off in a week or so, just like a scab. If the base of the tag is thick, you will want to wait until your baby is older to have it removed, so that a plastic surgeon can take it off with minimal scar formation.
